Well not quite a purple dog, just the backdrop changed to purple.
Two weeks ago we took Gypsy into the studio and decided to try something different. Instead of my usual black backdrop, we got a purple backdrop to see what it would look like. And maybe if it didn’t look too bad, offer my clients the option to have different coloured backgrounds to fit in with their home decor.
It was quite a warm day, and Gypsy was a bit tired, or just really not in the mood for a photo shoot, and she showed us exactly what she thought:
Or maybe she just showed us what she thought about the colour purple!!
I ‘Googled’ purple, and found this quote by Alice Walker, from “The Color Purple”, actually a very good movie staring one of my favourite actresses, Whoopi Goldberg, and my favourite TV personality Oprah Winfrey.
“I am an expression of the divine, just like a peach is, just like a fish is. I have a right to be this way…I can’t apologize for that, nor can I change it, nor do I want to… We will never have to be other than who we are in order to be successful…We realize that we are as ourselves unlimited and our experiences valid. It is for the rest of the world to recognize this, if they choose.”
― Alice Walker, The Color Purple
This Quote not only made me think about us humans, but more about dogs, abandoned dogs in particular. They only want to love, and be loved!!! And I don’t think there is anything closer to the Divine, than a Dog!!!
Anyway… I’m very use to, and very familiar with the black backdrop, and suddenly changing the colour was kind of a shock to me, especially this bright purple. But I think it looks good. I especially like the contrast between Black Gypsy and The Purple Backdrop.
I have to admit, it took some time for me to get use to the purple, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.. I can’t wait to have this printed on Canvas. I think it will look awesome, and the purple should ‘pop’ more on the Canvas.
The sad thing is, if you look at the photos, Gypsy really doesn’t look impressed, at all… I think she took the change worse than what I did!!!
But if she only knew…Next week we are trying the Colour Green!
